The American Academy of Professional Coders (the Academy) was founded in an effort to elevate the standards of medical coding by providing ongoing education, certification, networking and recognition. Currently, American Academy of Professional Coders (the Academy) has a membership base of nearly 38,000 worldwide.

American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology
(ASTRO)
Founded in 1958, ASTRO's mission is to advance the practice of radiation oncology by promoting excellence in patient care, providing opportunities for educational and professional development, promoting research and disseminating research results and representing radiation oncology in a rapidly evolving healthcare environment.
ASTRO also focuses on fostering collaboration between radiation oncologists and the larger medical community. ASTRO works to establish links between its 8,600 members and medical oncologists, surgeons, urologists, gynecologists, internists, family practitioners and other healthcare professionals to ensure that patients are offered the most up-to-date treatments available.
To better educate the patients that its members work so hard to cure, ASTRO works closely with the media to promote accurate articles on scientific breakthroughs involving radiation therapies. ASTRO also work with patient advocacy organizations to publish educational materials that keep patients and the public informed about radiation therapy as a safe and effective treatment option.

Association of Community Cancer Centers (ACCC)
The Association of Community Cancer Centers is an organization to help oncology professionals adapt to the complex challenges of program management, cuts in reimbursement, hospital consolidation and mergers, and legislation and regulations that threaten to compromise the delivery of quality cancer care.
In the 1970s ACCC presented the first U.S. meeting about hospital oncology units and hospice care. In the 1980s the Association led the way by presenting the first U.S. meeting on oncology economics and became the chief advocate for NCI's development of a Community Clinical Oncology Program. Throughout the 1990s, Association support resulted in passage of ACCC's off-label drug legislation in thirty-nine states. ACCC is the leading oncology policy organization for the cancer care team.

Founded in 1993, HBMA is the only trade association representing third-party medical billers. Constant changes in Medicare, Medicaid, private health insurance legislation and regulations make it essential for third-party billers to maintain a presence in Washington, D.C. The HBMA was created to work with and educate Congress and the Administration on issues affecting third-party billers.
